Good afternoon everyone! I'm Carly, your resident body wax specialist of Downtown Dallas & Ballantyne, NC.
As you may know, I have wrote a few blog posts about waxing lately and if you haven't had the chance to check them out click here to get caught up!
Today, I wanted to share with you all a few myths you might have heard about waxing! I'm here to bring you the facts so let's bust these myths!
MYTH: It hurts like a $#%!#%!
Fact: Waxing typically can cause some discomfort at first but it's nowhere near the level of pain that some may make it out to be! The reason is because the first time you ever get waxed, the hair is thicker and if you are switching over from shaving it can be slightly uncomfortable. This minor discomfort typically subsides after the first 1-3 waxing services you receive.
MYTH: It's too expensive!
Fact: Have you seen the price of razors lately? If you are shaving your entire body or just one area, the cost of buying a new razor head each time you shave (Yes, you're supposed to only use the razor once because of harmful bacteria that gets traced over your skin multiple times plus the dullness that happens after you use it once.) It adds up quickly! Plus with waxing, you'll only need to do it once every 4-6 weeks and there is a possibility that your hair may stop growing back all together in time! And that mitigates your cost for hair removal completely. Sounds like waxing could save you money! ;)
MYTH: It would be embarrassing!
Fact: Not under the care of a licensed professional! We are dedicated to customer service and providing you with a comfortable environment.
MYTH: Waxing will make my hair grow thicker and darker!
Fact: Waxing not only causes the hair to grow thinner and softer but also can cause the hair to become lighter as it is removed from the root and replaced with new baby like hair. Shaving actually causes your hair to grow darker and thick!
MYTH: Waxing is for the young!
Fact: Waxing is for everyone! No matter age, gender, body type or skin tone. It is an attractive grooming technique and good for hygienic purposes.
BONUS FACT: There is no factual reason to keep shaving, so book your appointment today!
As always, if you have any questions feel free to reach out!
Until next time, stay smooth!
xoxo
Carly.
